These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of Sprig (the “App”), which is operated by One Quark Media LLC, a California limited liability company based in San Francisco (“we,” “us,” “our”). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. What Sprig is — and what it isn't
Sprig is an educational tool that helps you identify ingredients linked to endocrine and reproductive disruption in everyday consumer products.
Sprig is not:
- A medical device
- A diagnostic tool
- A substitute for advice from a qualified healthcare provider
- A guarantee that a product flagged as “clean” by Sprig is safe for any individual person, or that a product flagged with disruptors will cause harm
The endocrine-disruption research that informs Sprig’s scoring is an active and evolving field. Ratings reflect our reading of publicly available science as of the last update; reasonable scientists may disagree, and new evidence may shift our assessments.
Always consult a qualified healthcare provider before making decisions about fertility, pregnancy, or any other health concern.
2. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source of the App beyond what is permitted by applicable law
- Use the App to harm, harass, defame, or violate the rights of any individual or company, including brands mentioned in the App
- Misrepresent Sprig’s ratings as medical advice when communicating with others
- Resell, sublicense, or distribute the App without permission
3. Brand recommendations
The “Cleaner Picks” feature recommends specific consumer brands as alternatives to flagged products. These recommendations:
- Are editorial judgments based on publicly disclosed ingredient lists and third-party certifications (EWG, Made Safe, etc.) at the time of curation
- Are not paid placements or affiliate endorsements in this version of the App
- May become outdated if a brand reformulates a product
- Are not warranties — we cannot guarantee any specific product is safe for you
4. Subscriptions (Sprig+)
Pricing
Sprig+ is offered as an auto-renewing subscription with two billing periods:
- Sprig+ Monthly — $4.99 per month
- Sprig+ Annual — $29.99 per year (≈$2.50/month)
Auto-renewal
Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. The renewal amount is charged to your Apple ID payment method within 24 hours of the end of the current period.
Cancellation
Open Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Sprig+ → Cancel Subscription. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period — you keep Sprig+ access until then.
Refunds
Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us. Request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Restoring purchases
If you reinstall the App or sign in on a new device, tap Restore Purchases on the Sprig+ paywall to recover your active subscription.
5. Intellectual property
The Sprig App, name, logo, and curated ingredient/disruptor database are the intellectual property of One Quark Media LLC. Brand names and product names mentioned in the App belong to their respective owners and are used here for editorial reference only.
You retain ownership of any ingredient lists you paste into the App.
6. Third-party services
Sprig relies on third-party services to function:
- Apple — App distribution and StoreKit subscription handling
- Open Food Facts / Open Beauty Facts / Open Products Facts — public product databases queried by barcode
- Brand websites — opened in-app when you tap a Shop button
We do not control these services and are not responsible for their content, availability, or terms.
7. Warranty disclaimer
The App is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including without limitation any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or noninfringement. We do not warrant that the App’s ratings are accurate, complete, or current.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, One Quark Media LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, arising out of or related to your use of the App, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total liability arising out of or related to these Terms is limited to the amount you have paid for the App in the twelve (12) months prior to the event giving rise to the claim, or USD $50, whichever is greater.
9. Health and fertility disclaimer
Sprig is for educational purposes only. It is not medical advice and must not be used as a substitute for advice from a qualified healthcare provider. Endocrine-disruptor research is ongoing and conclusions may change. Decisions about fertility, pregnancy, and exposure to chemicals in your environment should be made in consultation with your physician, OB-GYN, fertility specialist, or other licensed medical professional.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we will update the “Last updated” date and surface the change in the App when you next open it. Continued use of the App after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising out of these Terms or your use of the App will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in San Francisco, California, and you consent to that jurisdiction.
